Wishing you, your families and loved ones a happy new year!!
2024 was huge for me.

I launched this newsletter, The Tuesday Trailblazer, to over 4,000 leaders worldwide. I joined the team at ASICS working alongside an amazing (and sometimes silly) team.
But the biggest highlight? The birth of my second daughter, Rosie.
Reflecting on the year, I’m incredibly grateful for these milestones—and I’ve also recognised some areas for growth.

One of (many) mistakes in 2024 was not prioritising my diet. While my commitment to staying active stayed strong, my nutrition didn’t follow suit. And while I consider myself fit at 39, I know I’ve been limiting my potential by not fueling my body properly.
This year, I’ve set some big goals - for the sake of this edition of the Tuesday Trailblazer here is 2 of them:
Set a Godly example for my three girls and lead our faith journey consistently.
Run my first-ever marathon at the ASICS Sydney Marathon in August.
But here’s the thing: these goals are outcomes. They’re the result of consistent habits.
To achieve them, I’m focusing on specific, foundational habits that will create real change.
Here are 3 I’ve already implemented to get started:
Pliability Daily (365/365): Pliability is a daily 15–25 minute mobility routine I’ve done for almost 7 years now. It’s foundational for my physical and mental health, and I truly believe it’s why I’m still playing first-grade cricket at my age. If you’re interested in checking it out, you can try it out for 2 weeks for free here
Drink 1L of Water Before Coffee: I love my coffee, but I’ve struggled with consistent hydration. By making this a non-negotiable habit, I’m setting myself up for better health and energy.
Daily bible study - Pray.com have an amazing daily devotional with a bible reading, story and prayer to finish.
Why share this? Because habits are the engine behind goals.

Most people just like me set big, shiny goals at the start of the year—lose 10kg, get a promotion, run a marathon. But the truth? Goals without habits are just wishful thinking.
Habits compound. They create impact over time. The small actions you take daily are what drive the big wins.
The biggest mistake I see (and have made myself) is focusing too much on the goal itself—the result—and not enough on the habits that make it happen.
When you focus on habits, you give yourself something tangible to work on every single day. You create momentum. And that momentum leads to impact.

Leaders often fall into these traps when it comes to habits and goals:
Setting Vague Goals: “Be healthier” or “grow as a leader” sounds great, but it’s hard to act on without clear habits.
Expecting Immediate Results: Habits take time to show visible progress. Impatience often leads to giving up.
Focusing on Too Many Things at Once: Trying to overhaul every aspect of your life at once is a recipe for burnout.
The key is to start small, stay consistent, and trust the process.

The Game Plan: Reflect, Reset, and Build Habits That Stick
1️⃣ Reflect on 2024
What: Take time to reflect on the wins and lessons from the past year.
Why: Reflection helps you celebrate progress and identify areas for growth.
How: Use these prompts to guide your reflection:
What were my biggest wins?
What am I most proud of?
What lessons did I learn from challenges?
2️⃣ Identify Foundational Habits
What: Choose 1–2 habits that align with your goals.
Why: Habits are actionable and sustainable; they drive long-term success.
How: Identify small, daily actions. For example:
Want to improve your health? Start with 1L of water before coffee.
Want better focus? Block 15 minutes daily for reflection or journaling.
3️⃣ Start Small and Be Consistent
What: Build habits that are achievable and realistic.
Why: Small wins create momentum and prevent burnout.
How: Commit to micro-goals for the first 30 days, like a 10-minute walk or a single chapter of a book.
4️⃣ Celebrate the Process
What: Acknowledge progress regularly.
Why: Celebrating small wins keeps you motivated and focused.
How: Track your habits daily (use a journal or app) and reward yourself for consistency.

How to Have an Impact: This Week’s Challenge
Pick one goal for 2025.
Identify one habit that supports this goal.
Commit to practicing this habit daily for the next 7 days.
Let me know what habit you’re focusing on—I’d love to hear your journey!

As we step into 2025, let’s focus less on outcomes and more on the actions that create them. Goals are great, but habits are where the magic happens.
Here’s to a year of clarity, consistency, and impact.

What’s one habit you’re committing to this year?
Let me know in the comments—let’s inspire each other to lead with intention.
Lead with impact, not busy.
Until next Tuesday,
